Emergency & Law Enforcement Careers The A-Tech Public Safety Academy prepares students to successfully enter into and obtain the needed certifications for firefighting, private security, and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) careers. First year students will study basic law enforcement, criminal justice, and private security and learn constitutional law, defensive techniques, investigative procedures, security, discipline, professionalism, and physical fitness. Professional Care for Children The Early Childhood Education program at the A-Tech prepares students for entry into the child care field with a curriculum that teaches the value of instructing and caring for young children. Students learn the major theories of early childhood development pertaining to infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school age children. This comprehensive program also includes the development of good communication skills, nutrition, child guidance, and the needs of exceptional children. Systems, Operations & College Credits The rapid growth of computer technology has created an increased demand for skilled personnel. The A-Tech Tech Prep Computer Information Systems (CIS) program is designed to prepare students for high technology careers by blending academics and technical subjects that emphasize problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Students will learn computer programming, computer software applications, accounting applications, hardware organizations, and systems. CAD – Computer Aided Drafting
CAD is a detailed course on the use of AutoCad, starting with basic command usage through advanced engineering drawings. Approximately 90% of the course is lab instruction which allows the student to practice concepts within their own disciplines such as Mechanical or Architectural.Students Learn: Third-Angle Projection Layouts, Dimensioning Techniques, Sections/AUX views, Detail and Assembly Drawings and Plotting Techniques. Auto Collision Repair
The A-Tech Auto Collision Repair program allows students the opportunity to earn I-CAR points and provides the skills necessary for entry into the field of auto body repair, as a painter, detailer, auto conditioner, frame technician, restoration specialist, or estimator. Students learn to service all types of automobiles and other vehicles. The program also includes repair of auto shop equipment and analysis of body damage. Students have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology, including a CCC computerized estimating system and a Genesis Gold Frame Straightening System.
