Jane Hodgson-Lobaugh, Health Care Class 2001

Jane Hodgson-Lobaugh received her Career Passport from the Ashtabula County Technical and Career Campus (A-Tech) Health Care Academy Program and her Diploma from Geneva High School with the class of 2001.  Upon graduation Jane continued her education with the A-Tech Workforce Development Department obtaining her EMT Certification and later her Volunteer Firefighter Certification. 

     During her senior year at A-Tech Jane was a part of the Early Placement Program working about 25 – 35 hours a week in addition to her studies.  She was also involved in her SkillsUSA youth club where she participated in the Knowledge Bowl and ran for regional vice president.  Jane was inducted into the National Honor Society during her junior year at A-Tech and served as class speaker at her 2001 A-Tech Senior Awards Ceremony.  According to Jane, “The entire experience “builds” success stories.  Each building, each great monument, begins with a solid foundation.  I firmly believe that my experiences at A-Tech gave me my solid foundation upon which my success story is built.”

Jane is now employed by Native Air, an Air Methods Company, as a Flight Paramedic serving a Department of Defense contract providing MedEvac for Ft. Bliss in El Paso, TX. Air Methods is the world’s largest provider of air medical transportation.  They provide critical life saving care from hospital to hospital and in response to 911 calls.  Air Methods operates over 230 bases nationwide, locally UH (University Hospitals) MedEvac with bases in Middlefield and Akron.  Jane’s base, known as Native Air, Ft. Bliss Operations, operates three “platforms” – two helicopters, MedEvac23, MedEvac25 and a medical jet “Lifeguard 8.”  The MedEvac unite operate under a Department of Defense contract and serves one of the nation’s largest military bases, U.S. Army Ft. Bliss, El Paso TX providing urgent air medical support whenever called.  Lifeguard 8 flies scene calls as well as interfacility transport of critically ill/injured patients and is an extremely valuable asset to the states it serves.

 In addition, to Jane’s accomplishments are the following additional certifications she has received over the years; NREMTP – Nationally Registered EMT – Paramedic, CCEMTP – Critical Care EMT – Paramedic, VFF – Volunteer Firefighter, Flight Paramedic, ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support, PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support, NRP -  Neonatal Resuscitation, BLS – Basic Life Support, PHTLS – Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support, TX; NM, OH Paramedic Certifications.
