This 600 hour program will prepare you for an entry level position as a patient care technician. Emphasis is on technical skills necessary to perform personal care to complex patients, implementation of selected portions of care plans, including respiratory services, and rehabilitation services under the supervision of registered nurses.
Course Contents: Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, Ethics and Legal Considerations, General Patient Care, CPR and First Aid, EKG, Phlebotomy, Electronic Medical Records, Computer Training and an Externship.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a certificate of completion and will be eligible for National Certification through the National Healthcare Association (NHA). You will be able to earn certification as a Patient Care Technician, Phlebotomy Technician and EKG Technician.
