Small Animal Care

The Small Animal Care Program prepares students to enter the field of veterinary medicine and small animal care.

Students will administer nutritional diets for common small domesticated animals, maintain and interpret animal health records, perform laboratory tests on small animals, and interact daily with animals. Students will also explore veterinary clinical procedures, including animal care/control, grooming, clinical terminology, and disease prevention.

Small Animal Care graduates have the opportunity for immediate employment in the animal care industry or may further their skills in a post-secondary veterinary technician program.
